One Month from Today

As I stated at the end of the last blog post, I will happily be serving in Ethiopia one month from TODAY! The goal is to have an interview for UC early decision, which would be September 11. Then I could fly from Cincinnati to D.C. to catch a flight out on the 12th and arrive in Ethiopia on the 13th. How awesomely awesome!?!?!

This week has been filled with Ruhi! Amber and I drove to Sylvania Monday-Wednesday for a Book 7 intensive course. It was awesome! I loved learning and deepening with my baby sister, and now I can be a Ruhi tutor! Hopefully I will actually be able to be of some service to the Addis Baha'i community besides serving at One Planet. Emily says she is willing to work with me on Book 5 if Kelsey isn't able to do an intensive with me and Amber on the 21st. We shall see! Kelsey and a friend are coming home to visit his parents and they offered to do a session or something to help the community, so we're trying to take advantage of their experiences. It might not work out because of scheduling, but we're hoping!

Friday morning I'm heading to good ol' Louhelen Baha'i School for Pioneer Orientation. Not only will this be a very informative session, but I get to see Emily while I'm there! Yay sisterly bonding! I finished Arising and now I'm reading Prescription for Living by Ruhiyyih Khanum. I want Emily to start reading it too so we can discuss it together. While I'm at Louhelen, I hope to purchase a few more books, several paperback copies of the Hidden Words, and maybe some gifts to take to Ethiopia. Kyle's going to be there as well and he's promised me a milkshake just like the old times. I feel old. I remember when the service youth were "old", and now the service youth are younger than I am! I guess that means I'm old. Oh well, Amber pointed out that I have wrinkles under my right eye. I'm just going to pretend she's insane. I hope someday I'm a beautiful, wrinkly, old woman. They do exist! And I'm going to be one of them!
