So Many Confirmations!

After being accepted to medical school, what else could make my week?  No, no proposal…but I’m going on pilgrimage!!!  I was able to sign up with the Ethiopian Baha’i group going May 10-18^th!

 The Universal House of Justice has invited the Ethiopian Baha’is to Haifa on several dates during this spring.  Only two groups will be going – one in May and one in June.  As I was trying to decide which group to go with, I realized that it would be hotter in June…but I’d rather go in the heat and know someone than be a little more comfortable with the weather and not know anyone in my group.  Luckily, Yikirta (NSA member and dear friend) and his wife are going in May!  Their daughter, Shizemen, is in my grade 3 class and she’s the one I call my “little sister” here in Ethiopia.  I also teach their daughter, Lealem, in my grade 1A class.  This couple is so wonderful and kind to me, so I’m really excited to be going with them!  An older woman who translated for me at the Institutional Conference back in December is going as well.  She is really kind and had already recommended that I go on her trip.

I’m so excited!!!  Medical school AND pilgrimage!!!  The weight of the world is off my shoulders and now I am free to enjoy the remainder of my service here in Ethiopia.  Ya Baha’u’l-Abha!
